Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

  1. This song just rips at the old heart. Powerful for sure. Remembering all the good folks gone in your life, the people you loved. When you get my age, there are fewer and fewer people that knew you when you were young. I'll be joining them all soon but it will not be in this world. It makes me glad and sad all at once.

  2. Over a year ago… I met him… We hit it off right from the first hello… Conversation flew like the wind, and it was as if we knew each other for years… The topic of music came up and he learned I loved country music, and that I grew up listening to it. He asked me over to his house… Before while we were both getting ready, he texted me asking what country artists I favor. I told him Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, and of course, Alan Jackson. When I came over, the whole afternoon was set up like a classic summer date… He confessed he started to have a crush on me, and we ended up starting to hold hands and get intimate with one another. The moment we started to hold hands, Remember When began to play on his speaker… This day I refuse to forget… We lost touch a month and a half later because I was selfish and ignorant… We fought because of said reasons… Our friendship ended right then and there… I learned of him being in and out of mental hospitals because he struggles with what seems like an undiagnosed version of BPD… It was extremely bad… He and I did get back in touch once before, but I was in a toxic relationship, and my ex boyfriend hated me being friends with other guys… Which sucked because I can only ever get along with guys… So, my fears got the best of me once more and we lost touch again, but this time, more passively… Well, I hope to see him soon, and hope that he can return back to school after dropping out because he was constantly being put into mental health facilities all over the state. He called me from the place once, and I told him that I miss him. He then assures me he would try and come home to see me… He said he would be sure to call again, but I still have yet to get one from him… Well, only time would tell… I love this gentle sweet soul so much… I cannot believe I passed up the opportunity to be with someone this special… he probably moved on by now… And why would he not? It's been over a year… but of course I pray he would give me a second chance…. I physically cannot hear this song without having a flashback to this romantic afternoon… I love you Chris…
